Reba and Her Entourage in Moline, IL

Another belated post from late fall! I have only seem Reba perform live at CMA Fest a couple summers ago and thought it might be fun to see her show when she came to eastern Iowa for a middle of the week concert. It was a few hours drive but my audiobooks would keep me entertained on the ride and I'd get to eat at one of my favorite Thai restaurants, so what the heck!

What I didn't know was that Reba travels with quite a crew of openers kind of like Kenny Chesney or Brad Paisley. First up was the Christian music group Edens Edge - fresh faced young people with fine voices. Then Meghan Linsey, the female half of Steel Magnolia, came out. From my seat up in the stands I did not initially recognize her without her partner even though I have seen Steel Magnolia open a few shows in the past. My favorite of her songs, however, was when she was joined by deep-voiced cutie James Otto, whom I also last saw at CMA fest. They sang a great rendition of James' Just Got Started Lovin' You that you can help but respond to.

The final opener was The Band Perry. I enjoy their music but between my seat and the arena lighting I wasn't very pleased with my videos.

Reba certainly had a following in Moline so many gals around me seemed to know every world of her songs and participated thoughout. I only know bits and pieces of her radio hits. She was good but having been spoiled by my personal "entertainer of the year" who sings, chats, shreds a guitar, moves around the entire arena, and has a great deal of fun interacting with the audience, somehow just singing into the microphone just seemed a bit lacking. Spoiled rotten aren't I???
